Listen using a memory stick
You can become a Chatterbox listener if you are visually impaired or blind. We send publications to listeners anywhere in the UK.
As a listener you will receive regular audio publications on a computer memory stick. You will also receive a player to use with the sticks. This service and equipment is entirely free of charge including postage. Royal Mail sends articles for the blind free of charge as first class mail.
You will receive memory sticks in a plastic wallet addressed to you. You can remove the stick by pulling apart the Velcro seal at one end. After removing the stick and switching on, you plug the stick into the top of the player and the recording starts automatically. There is a small tactile pad on the front side of the stick to help you correctly plug the stick into the socket. Different length coloured tags on the sticks help you identify different publications.
For example, long yellow tags denote Chatterbox Norwich Evening News Weekly. Short red tags denote Chatterbox EDP Norfolk Monthly magazine.
When you have finished listening to the recording you simply put the stick back into the wallet and seal the Velcro. Then remove, turn over, and reinsert the label, which shows Chatterbox return address and mail the wallet back to us.
