Chatterbox Student Bursary 2024

Bursary for blind or vision-impaired student

Chatterbox, the Norwich Talking Newspaper is in the fortunate position of being able to use some of its funds to support a blind or vision-impaired student with their studies.

We are proposing to offer a small academic bursary.

The bursary must support a student studying at an academic establishment in Norwich. They must be studying for a course related to broadcast media, digital media, multimedia or journalism.

The bursary will be:

£2,000 as a one off payment
Used to support the blind or partially sighted student directly with their studies
Used during 2024/25

In return for the bursary we expect the student to participate directly in the production of Chatterbox in some way. Chatterbox reserves the right to publicise the awarding of the bursary and the outcome. The applicant must be happy for details to appear in the media.

If you wish to apply for a bursary, please submit a short proposal to us by 31st August 2024.

Your proposal should include:

Personal contact details
Details of visual impairment
Details of academic institution
Details of course including duration and dates of study
Contact details of supervisor
Expected benefits from the bursary
How you would be able to contribute to the production of Chatterbox

We expect the bursary recipient to report to us on the use of the bursary and its impact. This will allow us to report on the bursary to our AGM in March 2025. Any decision from Chatterbox relating to the bursary award is final. We will not enter into correspondence on why a proposal is rejected.
